I currently work as a freelance DP Cameraman and take the helm of the Creative Collective that is Little City Pictures alongside my brother Christopher L Cook (Director/Editor).
Having worked in the film and television industry in various roles for the past decade, I have developed solid skills and knowledge in all areas of production. My passion however, lies with camera work and photography.
Since training in the camera department of various productions including STV’s Rebus and Plum Films’ feature film Senseless, I progressed to assist on numerous commercials and corporate films. I then spent over 5 years at an award winning production company in various production and technical roles. I chose to become freelance in 2012.
My current showreels:
A few highlights…
In 2009 I was camera operator on Graham Fitzpatrick’s award winning short film Mum’s Birthday, produced by BAFTA New Talent winner Sarah Drummond (Best New Producer).
I shot new footage to be added to the BBC Scotland television drama River City title sequence created by Jody Black.
In early 2013 I was Cinematographer on Colours, a short film Written and Directed by Graham Fitzpatrick which seen the production team work along side inmates of Polmont Young Offenders Institute. The film went on to win Best UK Short at the East End Film Festival in London and has screened at over 10 festivals worldwide.
I had the pleasure of shooting a Channel 4 development documentary on Kate Polson, CEO of The Rock Trust in Edinburgh. Kate was one of the youngest Chief Execs in Scotland and used to sleep rough herself when she was young. Her work is truly inspiring.
A hot summer shoot for one of my first Ads, the Grahams Dairy Commercial .
