Artist Kevin Harman takes to the streets of Stockbridge in his home town of Edinburgh to complete the latest addition in his ground breaking Skip sculpture series. The film observes the fascinating construction of the innovative artwork Skip 11 and the social impact it has within a community. The work questions what an artwork is whilst acting as a catalyst for people to interact with one another. As the residents and passers by begin to take notice the audience gains insight into the work and the artist behind its creation.

Skip 11 was a short film Chris made for his final project at film school.

The film was nominated for ‘The Scottish Short Documentary Award’ at Edinburgh International Film Festival 2010. All aspects of production were carried out by Chris himself.

We are delighted to showcase this film on the blog as an example of Chris’ documentary work and ability to tell a compelling story visually.

Enjoy!
